What’s the story behind your alias?
Growing up I had very frizzy hair and was a joke with my friends, then I was trying to make a name on Steam and I saw on a Garnier Fructis bottle that it said FRIZZY and I just chose it and stuck with it. It became a nickname of mine as well after that.

Where are you from?
I’m originally from Florida, I was born in Boca Raton but spent most of my childhood in Gainesville, FL.
When did you start playing Counter-Strike?
I was very very young when I first played CS, I want to say I was 7-8 years old. When I had my own PC and started playing consistently, I was 13 I think.
What inspired you to start playing Counter-Strike competitively?
I used to visit my godmother growing up and her son played CSS a lot. I was fascinated and would pull up a chair and watch him play on office. Occasionally he’d let me try and play and swap off whenever I’d die, honestly from there I was hooked. When I got my own computer I was playing CS 1.6 until CSGO came out because my computer couldn’t run CSS.
Do you play any other games competitively or casually? Which ones?
I’m very competitive in nature so anything I play I really try to win. I played competitive Apex and Valorant for a while before coming back to CS. I also dabble in some Rocket League, I don’t think I’m amazing at RL but I’ve been GC for many seasons.
What’s your favorite Counter-Strike map, and why?

Growing up I used to watch CSS CGS championship all the time. Seeing teams like SF Optix or Birmingham Salvo play was so much fun. I’ll never forget watching Team 3D play season though, I just got hooked to that map after and wish it would come back into the rotation.
What’s your favorite role in the game (AWPer, rifler, IGL, support, etc.) and why?
I don’t really have a favorite role honestly, I have played every role in my career and it’s just CS at the end of the day. Everyone gets to participate in the winning of a game and that’s where the enjoyment is for me.
Who’s your favorite professional Counter-Strike player or team?
Nickn0it is my favorite all-time player, and in the modern game I’d say Art + Furia.
What’s your role on Chicken Coop, and how do you contribute to the team?
I’m the IGL for the team and I play many star rifle positions. Contribution can be broad so I’ll just choose an example, I prepare practices and give a plan for what we need to work on as a team, I’ll give individuals goals to work towards and do my best to set my teammates up for success.
What’s been your favorite moment or achievement while playing for Chicken Coop?
Making ECL and winning our first match in ECL.
How would your teammates describe your playstyle or personality?
Oh man I really don’t know, I’d say probably as a quiet but competitive and driven player.
What’s your biggest strength as a player?
Setting my teammates up.
What’s one area you’re working to improve in your game?
I’m looking to become more aggressive, as I’ve been studying the game and improving my macro, I’ve seen many opportunities for me to exploit timings and gaps in the opponents.
Do you have any pre-game rituals or routines?
I like having my Venti cold brew black, or a Hot Americano with an extra shot and Half/Half. That’s about it though.
What’s your favorite type of snack or drink to have during long gaming sessions?
Water, water, water. I drink tons of water, without I’d probably crash in many of my sessions.
What do you do to relax or recharge outside of gaming?
Take walks in the city, sometimes I’ll throw on a movie or tv show but not often. I don’t really get tired of gaming much, I’m so driven to improve that I’d use 18 hours a day to practice if I could.
What’s a fun or unexpected fact about you that most people don’t know?
I used to be a very good soccer player, I had a scholarship to play in college.
Do you have any unique gaming setups, hardware, or lucky charms?
I keep my monkey next to my monitor when I play. It was originally given as a joke by a friend but ever since my pops passed away I use it as a reminder of him. It has a smile on its face and just reminds me how my pops was just joyfully living his life.
If you could add any new feature or map to Counter-Strike, what would it be?
Honestly, this may be strange for many or unknown even. Back when I played 1.6 the community servers used to have these war mods where you could fly around as characters and level up abilities like stealth and jump and stuff. I forget what it was called but I used to really enjoy playing on those servers. Also, can never forget the cs 1.6 american football mod.
What’s your favorite gaming memory of all time?
When I was in 7th grade, I used to wake up at 4-5 am to play before my mom woke up because I had a 2 hour gaming time limit during school days. My pops would wake up and sit next to me and watch me play. Those were definitely some of my favorite memories.
What does being part of Chicken Coop mean to you?
Being a part of the Coop actually means a lot to me. This organization is helping make our team feel like we are professionals. The support and communication they provide is unmatched and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to play under Chicken Coop.
What advice would you give to someone looking to get into competitive Counter-Strike?
Spend more time learning and less time yapping. Watch demos, analyze why people do what they do, train your aim, most importantly be confident but don’t have an ego. It’s important to have confidence in your abilities without being rude or disrespectful to those around you. It’s hard to make a name for yourself so don’t tarnish your reputation before you even get anywhere.
