My dad was a gamer all his life and when I turned 11 he built me my first PC. His name was Beerman and he gave me the name LittleBEER! He passed away from cancer when I was 15 years old, so I kept this name to honor him.
What’s your real first name (optional)?
Joshua
Where are you from?
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
When did you start playing Counter-Strike?
I started playing CS when I was 14.
What inspired you to start playing Counter-Strike competitively?
When COVID hit, I played college baseball, and when the shutdown happened, this was my way to stay competitive and I grew a love for it from then on.
Do you play any other games competitively or casually? Which ones?
The other game I played competitively was Day of Defeat Source, and I dabbled into Battalion 1944, but that game sadly died very early on.
What’s your favorite Counter-Strike map, and why?
My favorite CS map of all time was Cache. It was a perfect mix between slower, methodical fights as well as quick plays. My current favorite map in the map pool is Anubis. The map requires you to use your brain to manipulate rotations and not just fight off the round start. That is why I enjoy it so much.
What’s your favorite role in the game (AWPer, rifler, IGL, support, etc.) and why?
My favorite role in CS is any rifle role. I’ve been around long enough to play most of the rifle roles, but lurking is my all-time favorite.
Who’s your favorite professional Counter-Strike player or team?
My favorite player of all time is Dupreeh. His run on Astralis was so legendary and I look up to him. My current favorite player is probably jL or Jimpphat.
What’s your role on Chicken Coop, and how do you contribute to the team?
I am a Support/Lurker on Chicken Coop CS and I contribute to the team through my positivity and selflessness to help us win the game.
What’s been your favorite moment or achievement while playing for Chicken Coop?
My favorite achievement so far has definitely been winning my first map in ECL in my career.
How would your teammates describe your playstyle or personality?
They would describe me as a happy and positive guy, and my playstyle tends to lean towards trying to be a thorn in the side of the other team. My other playstyle is setting other people up to succeed in the round.
What’s your biggest strength as a player?
My biggest strength as a player would be finding space in places I shouldn’t find space in!
What’s one area you’re working to improve in your game?
I am definitely working on my confidence as a player in terms of communication. I need to provide valuable information more often instead of sitting back and waiting for something to be called instead.
Do you have any pre-game rituals or routines?
My pregame ritual is listening to either 2000’s rock music, bhopping, then DMing. The bhopping helps me lock into my screen and I feel so much more comfortable with my sensitivity before I play.
What’s your favorite type of snack or drink to have during long gaming sessions?
My favorite drinks are Water/Mountain Dew Kickstart and the snack I prefer is probably pistachios or cashews.
What do you do to relax or recharge outside of gaming?
I am a huge outdoors person, as weird as it sounds coming from a gamer. I love to hunt, fish, and go camping!
What’s a fun or unexpected fact about you that most people don’t know?
I play CS with my left hand on my mouse and I use arrow keys to move around!
Do you have any unique gaming setups, hardware, or lucky charms?
I currently do not have anything crazy on my setup.
If you could add any new feature or map to Counter-Strike, what would it be?
I’ll take any NEW map to CS any day of the week. We need less of the old map recycling and should add new maps to the game.
What’s your favorite gaming memory of all time?
My favorite gaming memory of all time would probably be sneaking downstairs to game with my dad while my mom was asleep when I was a little kid.
What does being part of Chicken Coop mean to you?
Chicken Coop has been such a supportive group of people I’ve had the pleasure to work with. I am super grateful for what they provide to us and the transparency they bring to us on a daily basis.
What advice would you give to someone looking to get into competitive Counter-Strike?
I would say that sometimes you don’t need to be the most talented player. You just need to work hard, put the time in, and go into every day with a positive mindset, wanting to learn and grow as an individual and as a teammate. It TAKES TIME.
Where can fans follow you (social media, Twitch, etc.)?
Stay connected with The Chicken Coop for the latest updates, match schedules, and behind-the-scenes content. Join us as we build the next generation of competitive Counter-Strike.
